New Orleans Zydeco Foundation

The New Orleans Zydeco Foundation preserves and promotes Louisiana music, art, food and culture through community-centered festivals, programs and other activities.

The New Orleans Zydeco Foundation was founded in August 2022 by the great granddaughters of Zydeco Pioneer, Alphonse "Bois Sec" Ardoin, to preserve, protect and promote one of Louisiana's most notable cultural sounds, Zydeco.

The Foundation's programs and initiatives are...

- NOLA Zydeco Fest, an annual attraction held since 2021 in New Orleans that showcases live music from both Southwest and Southeast Louisiana, offers Zydeco dance lessons, vends cultural foods, and provides arts and crafts for families to enjoy. Over the last 2 years, we have attracted over 6,000 attendees from over 33 states!

- Ardoin Family Zydeco Museum, a rural community development project that will transform the home of "Bois Sec" Ardoin to a Historical Civil Rights and National Music Landmark as well as a community space for youth development programs.

- Zydeco Culture Bearer Fund, a fund to support the needs of Zydeco artists' equipment, travel, marketing, business trainings and more.
