Nourish

The mission of Nourish is to provide family and community support for children with feeding challenges. When children are unable to eat a balanced diet by mouth due to medical or behavioral difficulties, parents need a lot of support. But in these challenging economic times, support can be hard to find.

Nourish is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that provides:
• Therapy services for children whose families cannot afford feeding therapy or dietitian services
• Specialized feeding therapy equipment
• Support groups for parents of children with a variety of feeding needs
• Supports mentoring and training for therapists specializing with feeding and children

Logan is a sweet four-year-old boy who can eat all of his food by mouth! But he did not always eat by mouth.
As a baby, the food Logan ate went into his lungs instead of into his stomach which made him very sick. He had a feeding tube placed in his stomach so he could bypass his mouth and get his nutrition by tube to protect his lungs.

After an airway repair and lots of therapy support, Logan has learned to eat and enjoy mealtimes. His mom, Laurie, credits NOURISH for funding the intensive home therapy that helped him gain the skills and confidence he needed to be a safe eater! Laurie says the process has been gradual but monumental and changed his life! He now LOVES food! She calls him "an amazing super hero"!!
