Nunez Community College Foundation

A nonprofit organization

The Nunez Community College Foundation supports students through scholarships and emergency aid programs. The Nunez Community College Foundation provides an effective vehicle for programs and facilities at the college, and provides an open channel through which friends and organizations may contribute toward the present and future growth and development of the college.

The Nunez Community College Foundation supports six merit scholarships. The Chancellor's Scholarship (2 awards annually of $4,000.00 each) and the Foundation Community Scholarship (4 awards annually of $1,500.00 each) are Foundation supported. Nunez students with financial need are also identified by the Office of Student Affairs and Foundation funds are used to support students whose federal financial aid still leaves them with unmet need.

Testimonials

Chancellor's Scholar Ariel Troxclair on her selection as an awardee: "I decided to start at Nunez Community College because I think I will be more successful in a smaller environment. Having this scholarship means that I can focus on my academics and not have to worry about getting into debt. By starting at Nunez, I will be ahead of the game when I transfer to a university."

Ariel is a student in the Louisiana Transfer Degree program. She is concentrating her studies in fine arts and plans to transfer to a local four-year university after completing her associate's degree to continue her studies in studio art.
