Oakland LGBTQ Community Center

A trailblazer in the field of LGBTQ wellness, the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center is the first all-inclusive LGBTQ community center in California founded by Black queer people for all people. In seven short years, we have grow from a single office by Lake Merritt to be the leading provider of whole person queer and trans wellness care in the East Bay. From our wide range of peer support groups to our LGBTQ community clinic, stand-alone youth drop in center, and innovative mental health, substance use disorder support, gender-affirming care, emergency housing assistance, and hate crime prevention programs, our team never rest in our pursuit of a Bay Area that celebrates, nourishes, defends the most vulnerable LGBTQ lives.

When you support the Center, you can breathe easy, knowing your gift allows us to

- welcome LGBTQ young people into Oakland's only drop-in wellness center for queer and trans youth, the Town Youth Club;

- provided hot meals and wellness support to LGBTQ elders;

- staff and operate the East Bay's only expilictly LGBTQ-centered community health center, the Glenn Burke Wellness Clinic, offering sexual health services and gender-affirming care;

- support LGBTQ people with their harm reduction goals through the East Bay's only LGBTQ people of color-centered recovery program, Rainbow Recovery;

- distribute free food to the community through our LGBTQ pantry;

- provide low-income community members with subsidized LGBTQ therapy and copay assistance for gender-affirming care; and

- expand these critical services and more into East Oakland with our soon-to-be-opened LGBTQ clinic and wellness center on Hegenberger Road.
