Help us reach our goal to help old dogs find permanent, loving homes!

This year we have had more pleas for help than ever before from individuals and shelters needing new homes for old dogs who have serious medical needs.  Often we get calls from friends and family when a loved one has passed or is otherwise not able to care for their beloved older pup.  Also, many shelters are at, or over capacity and have to turn away folks who can no longer care for their old dogs or have no place for older, sick dogs found as strays.  Your donation of any amount really helps us continue to respond to this growing need.

About Old Dog Haven

Old Dog Haven is a small nonprofit group using a large network of foster homes to provide  loving safe homes and much needed veterinary care for senior dogs in western Washington. When we have room and the means, we take these dogs into our homes.  We care for these dogs as members of the family in permanent foster homes (what we call “Final Refuge”) for as long as they have good quality of life. 

Our Mission

Old Dog Haven is committed to the belief that all senior dogs should live peacefully in their final years as members of a caring family. To this end we:

- Provide permanent foster homes for senior dogs in western Washington who are unadoptable, in a medical crisis, abandoned or soon to be homeless, and age eight and over. We give preference to the oldest dogs and those that have serious health issues.

- Assist owners, shelters, and rescues in finding homes for their adoptable senior dogs age eight and over by posting those dogs on our website and our Facebook page;

- Educate the public about the value of senior dogs in our lives and the unique gifts they bring us.
