Mission

On Belay builds community among youth who have or have had a loved one with cancer using adventure-based programs to encourage participants to uncover their inner resilience. On Belay's programs are intentionally designed to provide a supportive community of like-experienced peers, uncover inner resilience, and to have fun!

How We Do It

On Belay provides monthly day and overnight adventure programs for kids, ages 8-18, impacted by a loved one's cancer. Our programs take place in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts, serving youth from all over New England. On Belay programs include rock climbing, challenge courses, sea kayaking, hiking, surfing, and much more! Through these programs, we help kids uncover their inner resiliency, build a support network with like-experienced peers, and, importantly, have fun!

Who We Are

What started in 2004 by our Founding Director, Crescentia Healy-True as one program with a handful of families including her own, has grown to 20 programs that are offered year-round and has supported over 2,600 children.  Through adventure, play and time away, we offer children a chance to be part of a supportive community of peers who "get it" and have faced similar challenges in life as they walk alongside a loved one with cancer.  We are a small and mighty team who works hard to provide high quality programs and create connections that last a lifetime.
