To provide support, access to treatment, and education that raises awareness and reduces shame and stigma, for anyone impacted by eating disorders, disordered eating and body image.

For 17 years, Ophelia's Place continues to be an innovator and thought leader in the eating disorder community. They work to raise awareness, educate, and offer support to anyone affected by eating disorders, disordered eating and body dissatisfaction.

why?
-67% of women 15-64 withdraw from life-engaging activities, such as giving an opinion, going to school and going to the doctor, due to feeling badly about their looks.

-Over 50% of females between the ages of 18-25 would prefer to be run over by a truck then be fat. (Gaesser, G., 1996, Big Fat Lies)

how?
At Ophelia's Place we accomplish our mission of educating on eating disorders through four pillars.

Education:
-We seek to raise awareness through events and educate with influencers, professionals, leaders, schools and other organizations. We also have our signature Certificate Program which is a 4 month online course, designed to help you gain a deeper understanding around eating disorder prevention and intervention, and strengthen your sense of body respect on both a personal and collective level.

Support:
-Through virtual support groups for those affected by eating disorders, and a family and friends group for those who love someone with an eating disorder. Eating disorders are a complex issue and support has proven to be a vital and necessary step in the recovery process. It is also a family disorder. So often family and friends want to help and may not know how to handle such a difficult disorder, or they may need help dealing with their own frustration or emotions while processing the relationship.

Community: Our goal is to open a cafe with cause to support the work we do and create community.

Treatment:
Through a case management number, we collaborate with treatment programs and professionals, that assesses and connects with the correct level of care.

In our efforts of early intervention and prevent Ophelia's Place created The Everybody Is Beautiful Project. Through our blog, social media, and product line we are working to spread the message that every body is beautiful. AS IS.
