Our Lady of the Gulf Lost At Sea Memorial

A nonprofit organization

Our Lady of the Gulf joined together with the Blake Terry Memorial Foundation (BTMF) non-profit organization to build a "Lost at Sea" Memorial in Port Fourchon, Louisiana. Joined with several of the families who have lost their loved ones in the April 20th, 2010 Deepwater Horizon Gulf Oil Spill, we are finally excited to begin her construction.

Our Lady of the Gulf have worked closely with the Port Commission in order to establish the exact place where she will be placed. The land has been donated by the Fourchon Port Commission and she will be placed adjacent to the Emergency Command Center. She will represent all of those who have lost their lives to our beautiful gulf waters. She will be nearly 10' mermaid ascending from the water bathed in air bubbles and sun light. In the folds of her watery cloak, we will see images of our gulf including diving fins, a boat bottom, and an oil rig with the sea life of the reef the rig creates. She will be sculpted and finished with a cold bronze finish and will ascend on a 6' cement block platform that will display her history, those who have lost their lives, and the sponsors who have generously donated towards her construction. Robert Epstein is the architect and designer who has built several monuments including the "Hand of Fate" found in Madeira Beach, Florida. Both Our Lady of the Gulf and the BTMF organizations have been actively working to raise the necessary funds to begin her construction and we were able to finally commence the full-scale fabrication. We are now striving to complete her construction in hopes of receiving your support. We plan to unveil her in the Fall of 2017. Please join our campaign in order to complete her construction.
Thank you
