Over the Hill Senior Dog Sanctuary Inc

Over the Hill Senior Dog Sanctuary is an in-home rescue for senior and special need dogs. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing a safe haven to senior and special need dogs. Over the Hill focuses on providing a home to retired sled dogs. Unfortunately, many retired sled dogs are overlooked and left to live outside for the remainder of their lives once they retire. Some dogs are even euthanized once their purpose has been met. We're determined to change that narrative and show the world how incredible these dogs are. 

Most of our pack is made up of retired sled dogs, but you'll find a few misfits in the mix. We have several special need dogs who were out of options until they joined the Over the Hill pack. From dogs with bite histories, epilepsy and even a puppy born with a severe deformity- we always lend a paw when we can. 

"Every day is a celebration" as we like to say. We cherish each of our seniors as if each day was their last. Most of our dogs come to us after living their entire lives outside. We get to show them the good in the world, like dog beds, snacks, and unconditional love.  We are currently home to 16 dogs, most of which are over the age of 13 years old. Without your life saving donations, these dogs wouldn't have made it. With a home full of seniors, comes extensive veterinary expenses. In 2024 alone, we spent over $38,000 on just vet bills. We need your help raising some much needed funds to keep the pack happy and healthy.
