PALS Animal Shelter

A nonprofit organization

Founded in 1989, PALS Animal Shelter (formally Pets A Lone Sanctuary) was established by a group of dedicated volunteers to address the problem of abused and neglected animals in Lincoln County, Missouri. Over the past 30 years PALS has provided shelter for thousands of homeless animals, saving more than 400 animals each year. PALS is a no-kill shelter, therefore all PALS' animals have a caring home at the shelter until they are adopted into their new forever homes.

PALS serves four primary functions in their role as the only shelter in Lincoln County, MO:

1) Shelter: PALS provides a safe haven and shelter for dogs and cats that have no homes in Lincoln County. Love, care, food, a warm bed and hugs are provided - the basics that many of the shelter dogs and cats have never had before.

2) Rehabilitation: Many of the animals that come to PALS are sick or abused and in need of veterinary care. All dogs are heartworm tested and cats are feline leukemia tested. All animals receive a check-up, annual vaccinations, microchip, flea and tick preventative as well as any rehabilitative care they may need to live a healthy and happy life.

3) Spay/Neuter: PALS is committed to reducing the pet overpopulation in Lincoln County therefore all animals are spayed or neutered before they are available for adoption.

4) Adoptions: Much of PALS' work is dedicated to finding forever homes for their pets often through community adoption events and promoting their amazing animals online.
