Park Central (Proudly recognized as First Girls Club in US!)

Proudly recognized as the very first Girls Club in the US...we continue our legacy of Empowering Girls and Women every day, every step of the way, for over 162 years!

Because of your generous support through this campaign...

Our summer camps keep growing!  With your support, we are adding more field trips, welcoming more speakers, including lots of new, innovative and amazing activities to keep our girls fully engaged, while having a blast all summer...and all year long!

And this year is on track to be our best year yet...

All monies raised during this year's campaign will directly support our growing summer camp adventures!  With a full 8 weeks of non-stop adventure, filled with hands-on, minds-on activities all summer long, our girls will be making great friends, great memories and having a blast!  Thank you for helping us to make this the best summer ever!

We welcome you to share your time and talents!

We are always welcoming volunteers and mentors, especially our alumnae, to share their time and talents with our girls!  Join us as we work together to empower the next generation of leaders, and girls who continue to change our community and world, all for the better!

About Us / Celebrating our Legacy as the First Girls Club in the US...Serving Girls in our Community for over 162 years!

Our organization was established in 1864 as the Industrial School and is proudly recognized as the very first Girls Club in Waterbury, in CT and in the US!  We are a founding member of the Girls Clubs of America organization in 1945, and a former affiliate who helped lead the efforts to grow the Girls Inc. Organization, to a national platform.  Our mission is to empower girls and women every day, every step of the way, while serving as a central hub for community engagement.  We offer a variety of girls' clubs, skill-building classes and enrichment programs, workshops, camps and other activities focused on empowering girls' futures, creating positive change, fostering inclusiveness, and providing resources that transform lives.

Our programs are offered year 'round for girls of all ages, with growing clubs for adults.  We welcome all girls from our community and throughout Greater Waterbury, offering programs and classes after the school day, during school vacations, including a robust summer camp, an interactive learning environment for Homeschool families, covering Life Skills, Leadership & Advocacy, Creative Arts/Empowerment, Literacy, Cooking & Baking, Sewing & Fashion Design, Karate, and a full sports component.  All of our clubs and programs are led by positive adult role models in a welcoming environment, grounded in hands-on, minds-on learning through play, activity and exploration.
