Park Local Development Corporation

Investing in Community. Park Local Development Corporation is an economic and community development organization working to strengthen the businesses, communities, and the economy of Park County. We provide financing to support the expansion of existing businesses and startups, and training and technical assistance to ensure their success and build the resilience of the Park County economy.

Park Local Development Corporation (PLDC) was formed in February 2019 as a nonprofit corporation with the primary purpose of increasing economic and community development throughout Park County. PLDC manages a revolving loan fund (RLF) on behalf of the City of Livingston and Park County to support small business development. These funds are dedicated to assisting startup businesses and business expansion in Livingston and across Park County.

In 2020, PLDC launched an new loan program for businesses negatively impacted by the pandemic. The emergency microloan program made nine loans for $85,000 to businesses across Park county. and other applications are in process. In 2021, we launched the Business Builder Virtual Training Series and expanded our one-on-one consultation services for small businesses. In collaboration with Park County Extension, we have hosted 15 trainings ranging from financial health and business planning to leadership and marketing.

Funds raised through the Give a Hoot campaign will help expand our reach and the depth of this assistance. The focus of training topics for 2022-2023 will include bookkeeping and financial management (understanding and utilizing profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and projections), continuity planning and risk management, marketing, customer management, and other areas of need as they arise.
