Parkway Alumni Association

A nonprofit organization

The Parkway Alumni Association was launched in 1992 to provide avenues for Parkway alumni who want to get involved in programs that serve Parkway alumni, staff and students. Read more about our organization and programs at ParkwayAlumni.org.

The organization works concurrently with Parkway Schools to fulfill many of its programs. However, the PAA is a separate 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and depends on donations to support all programs and operations. Without the financial investment of donors, the organization could not sustain its mission.

The Parkway Alumni Association has been working to fulfill its mission during the 2022-23 school year by:

* Awarding 137 grants to Parkway students (total: $11,370) who submitted applications to the Granting Dreams program, which awards grants to students for extracurricular learning opportunities outside the regular classroom. Many students apply for financial help to attend camps or classes, or to purchase materials that will help them learn or improve a skill.

* Awards for three Parkway high-school business entrepreneurs for their winning presentations at the Thomas Phelps Business Pitch Contest; these cash awards are funded by the PAA's Thomas Phelps Entrepreneurship Fund for Parkway students (total: $2,500)

* Honoring three outstanding operations staff members in the district with Light of Parkway Awards for their positive influence on the Parkway school community; these awards are funded by the Sandy Finch Light of Parkway Fund (total: $1,500)

* Sponsoring Parkway's Teacher of the Year program by providing cash awards to three outstanding Parkway teachers; most of these teachers use their award for professional development or a school/classroom project (total: $2,000)

* Recognizing three exemplary new teachers in the district with the Albert Award; this recognition comes with a cash award and is funded by the Educators Make a Difference Fund (total: $3,000)

* Hosting multiple networking events for alumni to connect with each other and build their business

* Assisting reunion planners with their event communications (not reunion planning)

* Hosting fundraisers that include the Parkway Golf Tournament, Parkway Trivia Night, and Teacher Appreciation Week w/Waterway Car Wash

* Sponsoring the Parkway Alumni Hall of Fame, a biennial event that brings some of Parkway's most illustrious graduates back to St. Louis for a gala celebration

* Community events/fundraisers that include Parkway Family Day at Busch Stadium, Parkway Trivia Night and Parkway Golf Tournament
