Small Bugs, BIG Discoveries!

As part of our STREAMin3 curriculum, Peake provides engaging science lessons for our students at every age. With warmer weather, our science lessons take on a life of their own. This Give Local 757 campaign focuses particularly on insects. From bug hunts to worm studies, we want to provide our students with lots of hands on opportunities to learn about the creepy crawlers around them.

Our goal is to raise $2,700 to fund an array of engaging science lessons for our students. Through investigating model insects with a magnifying glass, students can count legs and learn about life cycles. While conducting our school wide worm study, children learn about habitats and decomposition. Your support of these projects will strengthen our students’ science skills.

Peake Childhood Center is grateful to be a part of such a generous community that recognizes the importance of our mission to provide affordable, quality care and education. With your help, our preschoolers will be ready for success in Kindergarten and beyond. Research shows that 40% of Virginian children enter Kindergarten without the skills needed for success. Help make sure our children are not a part of that statistic!

We know there are many worthy projects to support today. Thank you for considering a gift to our children.
