Educators and youth workers know that the needs of today’s young people are complex, with an increased vulnerability to risky behaviors.
Penn’s Youth Initiative partners with schools and youth organizations to provide engaging and fun classroom presentations that underscore individual worth, decision making skills, and relationship fundamentals.
Penn’s Youth Initiative (PYI) is an education nonprofit organization that partners with schools and youth organizations to provide presentations using an evidence-based, peer reviewed curriculum. Pre-teens and teens talk about relevant, age-appropriate topics with a fun spin. We believe there is no better way to learn how to build healthy relationships.
Presentations are conducted with a lighthearted candor that fosters warmth and acceptance. High levels of engagement, humor, role playing, and situational studies all are used to help young people think about what matters most to them—relationships.
Our enthusiastic Program Educators comprise an array of professionals with backgrounds in education, medicine, science, and humanities. Each one has met PYI’s standards of practice for professional development and are trauma-informed, culturally competent, and current on PA background checks.
Our program is intentionally designed to be inclusive of all students regardless of background or beliefs.
