Pet Pantry of Lancaster County, Inc.

This year we have spared no effort to increase our reach to help animals, and their families, here in Lancaster County. Our food program has a record number of 325 families currently receiving pet food assistance from the program at our main facility, our sister program in Gap, and a food bank near the border of Lancaster and Chester counties. We have distributed over 53,000 pounds of dry cat/dog food and 17,300 cans of wet cat/dog food. Our affordable, high-quality clinic has performed over 3,200 spay/neuter surgeries, administered over 4,300 vaccines, and implanted over 725 microchips. Our rescue has had over 400 animal intakes and found loving, forever homes for over 360 cats and dogs.

The Pet Pantry was again voted #1 Rescue Organization by readers of Lancaster County Magazine, and #1 Favorite Place to Adopt a Pet by the readers of Lancaster Newspapers. For the second year in a row, we have achieved No-Kill Shelter status from Best Friends Animal Society.

Looking forward, our second facility should be opening in 2025. Our dog rescue program will expand as the kennel area is completed. With a dedicated TNR (trap/neuter/return) clinic, and with additional veterinarians on our team, we will be able to provide additional TNR services to the community cats of Lancaster County. In 2025, we hope to add another veterinarian to our staff allowing us to expand our Vaccine Clinics, Wellness Clinics, and provide surgical assistance to pet owners in Lancaster County.

Who We Are

In just 8 short years, Pet Pantry has become the organization known to “Meet the Need” for animals and families in Lancaster County. We are proud to say that our services are available to all residents of the county that are in need and while we help in other communities where we can, our priority is to provide support right here in our own backyard.

Last year, with the extraordinary help of our faithful supporters, Pet Pantry was able to average over 400 adoptions, perform over 1,000 feral cat TNR surgeries, give out 70,000+ pounds of dry dog/cat food and help 200+ families in need and provide 50+ lifesaving veterinary procedures worth over $250,000 to animals with nowhere else to turn to for help.

We are only able to meet these needs because of the help and support that we receive from the citizens in our community. The support that you show to us every day, and the boost we gain through the Extraordinary Give, helps us to do extraordinary things! Over the past three years, we have been able to purchase lifesaving, diagnostic blood and x-ray equipment, dental equipment, and even new condos for our rescue cats to be more comfortable during their stay. This year we intend to put some of your generosity towards extending our services to every corner of the county through our Mobile Medical/Surgical Unit. This unit has been out and about for a while now, but we want to make sure it is used to its maximum potential. Through your continued support on this extraordinary day, it will be possible to provide the equipment and staff needed to do just that!
