Peter's Place

A nonprofit organization

I felt so alone. I felt like no one truly understood what I was going through. It wasn’t until 2021 where we found Peter’s Place. I felt seen from the very first moment I stepped foot into there. I felt so blessed that this place even existed for families like us. My daughter looked forward to going each and every time and still does.” -Marcy, Adult Group Participant

Our Mission

After the sudden
death of Peter Morsbach at age 10, family and friends were disheartened to find
few support options for grieving families, particularly for those unable to
afford care. Peter’s Place opened its doors On September 12, 2001, in loving
memory of Peter, on the premise that no child should grieve alone. In pursuit
of that goal, Peter’s Place designs programs that normalize the emotional
response to loss and incorporates a peer support model where children can build
hope through shared experiences.

The Mission of Peter’s Place is to provide
safe and supportive environments for grieving children and families, and to
foster understanding of the effects of death and grief.

As one of the first
family grief agencies of its kind  to serve the five-county
Philadelphia area, and the only grief center located in Delaware County,
Peter’s Place combines awareness of local community needs, professional
experience, and extensive best practice research to produce a unique,
comprehensive bereavement center. Since our opening, Peter’s Place has provided
programs and services to more than 15,000 grieving children and adult
caregivers, all at no cost.
