This year, Petunia’s Rescued Friends is stepping into a new chapter—and with your help, we can turn the page for countless animals who need us. 

During The Big Give, we’re raising $50,000 to complete Phase 1 of our long-awaited vision: the grand opening of our first-ever adoption center at

📍 4560 US-90, Hondo, TX 78861. 

This is more than a building. It’s a place of healing, hope, and finding furever homes for rescue animals across Medina County and beyond.

🏗️ Phase 1: Finish Our Adoption Center

For years, we’ve operated without a facility—saving hundreds of lives through a network of dedicated fosters. But now, we’re building something permanent. 

Our adoption center is nearly complete, and your donation will help us:

• Secure the outdoor perimeter fencing

• Build covered dog play yards for exercise, socialization, and safety

• Furnish our cat enclosure with towers, shelving, and enrichment

• Stock dog enrichment supplies and tools for stimulation and behavioral rehab

• Complete our dog training center to help prepare dogs for adoption success

• Expand community education programming and outreach from the new space 

This center will also serve as a compassion hub—where students can come for hands-on humane education, families can attend pet care workshops, and animals can meet their furever homes in a calm, welcoming environment. 

🌱 Phase 2: Petunia’s Rescued Friends Ranch (Coming Soon)

Once Phase 1 is complete, we’ll begin expanding on the same property to build Petunia’s Rescued Friends Ranch—a larger rescue and rehabilitation space with pasture areas, barn animal care, and dedicated space for training, recovery, and community events.

The Ranch will include:

• Multi-species rescue spaces

• Educational day camps for kids

• Volunteer and service-learning programs

With shelters overcrowded and resources stretched thin across South Texas, the need for a facility like ours is urgent. Petunia’s Rescued Friends isn’t just filling a gap—we’re redefining what rescue looks like for Medina County and beyond.

We’re building more than walls and kennels—we’re building a future where animals are safe, families are supported, and our community comes together to protect the voiceless.
