Where do you go to celebrate nature?
As Pittsburghers have done for 123 years, you go to Phipps!
Because you know you'll discover the beautiful, inner world of plants at one of the world's top garden-conservatories.
You and your family will also experience the finest exhibits and educational programs being presented by expert staff who have earned more than 80 recent awards for professional excellence.
Your support of Phipps touches the lives of up to one in nine area residents, including more than 60,000 children. Whether it's a child who smiles at the first up-close look at a palm tree; a student or scientist who achieves a breakthrough in their work; or, an adult who is ennobled by the garden's beauty- all are gratified to gain the Conservatory's life-enhancing insights.
Phipps is your garden. We exist to serve you and your loved ones by meeting the need to:
1. Create and cultivate beauty, advancing life's quality
2. Sharpen sustainable gardening and landscaping skills and science
3. Fix malnutrition in city food-deserts with a neighborhood network of backyard, raised-bed vegetable gardens and mentoring programs, nurturing a healthier and ever-more beautiful community
4. Foster STEM and arts education through dynamic on- and off-site programming, and
5. Envision how to create and to live, work and learn in healthy built and natural environments.
Admission and membership fees cover 30 percent of the cost to keep Phipps open and operate essential community programs. For the other 70 percent of the necessary funds, we turn to you who appreciate our mission and purpose.
Your gift today is extremely important, because it goes immediately to pressing community needs and opportunities.
The team at Phipps is grateful for your generous support. Your donation today is helping make our Pittsburgh region healthier and ever-more beautiful - thank you! If you are in need of assistance, or have any questions, please contact our development department at 412/441-4442, ext. 3701.
Yours sincerely,

More about Phipps Exhibits and Programs:
Center for Sustainable Landscapes
The Center for Sustainable Landscapes (CSL) is an education, research and administration facility at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Designed to be the greenest building in the world, it generates all of its own energy and treats all storm and sanitary water captured on-site. The CSL is the first and only building to meet all four of the most rigorous green certifications: the Living Building Challenge, LEED Platinum, WELL Building Platinum, and Four-Stars Sustainable SITES. As an integral part of the Phipps visitor experience, the CSL focuses attention on the important intersection between the built and natural environments, demonstrating that human and environmental health are inextricably connected.
Seasonal Flower Shows
Phipps is one of the few remaining glasshouse conservatories in the U.S. that still produces full-scale seasonal flower shows year-round. New, creative themes for each show keep the guest experience fresh and exciting, and each show is meticulously designed over a year-long cross-department planning process. Seasonal displays are installed in up to nine rooms with remarkable efficiency and showcase Phipps' horticultural excellence. Phipps seeks to constantly delight, surprise and inspire guests with each show - from Spring Flower Show's displays of over 69,000 bulbs to Summer Flower Show's use of innovative props, and from Fall Flower Show's display of traditionally-trained chrysanthemums to Winter Flower Show and Light Garden's over 62,000 square feet of LED-illuminated outdoor gardens.
SEED Classroom
Unveiled in 2015, Phipps' new SEED Classroom is one of the nation's first sustainable, modular classrooms. Developed by the SEED (Sustainable Education Every Day) Collaborative, the SEED Classroom, built to Living Building Challenge standards, features non-toxic materials, generates its own energy, and recycles water on site. Fabricated locally by EcoCraft Homes, it is one of only two of its kind in the U.S. and will model how classrooms of the future can be built to maximize student wellness and potential. The building shows what healthy spaces look like for kids and calls attention to the importance of providing healthy learning environments for their children.
Let's Move Pittsburgh and 5-2-1-0
Let's Move Pittsburgh - modeled after First Lady Michelle Obama's national Let's Move! campaign to raise awareness about the benefits of healthy foods, increased exercise and decreased screen time - is a program of Phipps and a collaborative effort to improve the health of children in southwestern Pennsylvania...
