Pima Paws for Life gives hope to hundreds of dogs and cats with no hope left. Your gift allows us to continue to be there for them! Our Mission: To partner with our community in creating a no-kill Pima County. To find loving homes for every treatable and adoptable animal in our care. To collaborate with other local animal welfare agencies to broaden the safety net for homeless animals in our community.

Since our doors opened in January of 2014, Pima Paws for Life has focused our life saving efforts on taking in ill and injured animals; the dogs and cats at highest risk of euthanasia. These animals take extra time and veterinary care costs before being ready for their forever homes. As a non-profit 501(c)3 animal welfare organization, we are proud to have cared for over 3200 animals in the past seven years and with your help, we will save thousands more! As a private no kill shelter, we do not give up on any animal, and our animals receive the best medical care. We will not accept defeat until there is no hope left, and we pour our hearts into the care we give them. 'We' is not made up of just those of us who work at Pima Paws for Life - WE is YOU! Pima Paws for Life receives no taxpayer money and relies completely on donor funding. Without you, there is no us!

Join us in helping to create an adoption guarantee community, where no animal is destroyed just because it is homeless, has a treatable illness or injury, or their breed, or just terrified.

Testimonials

I adopted my ACD, Topher, after volunteering at pima paws for life as a dog walker. My experience in working with the staff, animals, and other volunteers was amazing. I exchanged emails with the volunteer coordinator before making my final decision on the right pup for me! They are just as devoted to ensuring the animals find the right home as they are to you finding the perfect friend. All of my questions were answered honestly and they give great packets and coupons to new pet parents. Topher had been surrendered for nipping and the staff was up front with me on their concerns. They offered me plenty of information and solutions to any behavioral issues he could have. I have had him for four months now and with a little training and the right amount of exercise he has become a well socialized and ideal companion. So thankful to this place for never giving up on these dogs! Faith in humanity restored. -Kari T.

My husband and I had the wonderful pleasure of adopting our new fur baby (known as Trevor at time of adoption, but was changed to Scout). We searched a few places looking for a new addition and found him here. This is the best place that we visited and everyone here is such a pleasure to work with. They really do a fantastic job at answering any and all questions that you might have and make sure that all of the animals find loving furever homes! -Liz A.

I stumbled upon PPFL through a mutual friend of one its volunteers. Having lost our 15-year-old Border Collie last summer, I was ready to start looking for a running buddy for our other dog. I saw a picture of some BC puppies and fell in love. I visited the shelter and was pleasantly surprised that it is super clean, and well-laid out. Stephanie, a sweet, wonderful volunteer took me to meet all of the puppies and brought out each one into a main area for me to interact with them in a neutral environment. After deciding on Brady (now Freddy), I came back the next day with my 3-year old to see if they were compatible as well. Stephanie again was fantastic, informative, and helpful during that process. We filled out the paperwork, and started the process to adopt. Because we had to wait almost a week due to him still needed to be neutered, etc, I went by the shelter more than a few times during our wait. The staff was VERY accommodating and brought him out to spend time with me, allowing us to form a bond before we eventually picked him up for good. I love that the adoption fee covered the neutering, shots, and micro-chipping. Made my life SUPER easy. Just had to get him home to love.
I can't say enough about this place and the love they have for their animals. I'm even thinking about going back to volunteer because of the amazing work that they do!
Thank you for helping us find our newest family member!!! -Gretchen W.
