Who we are:

Founded in 1970, the Piscataquog Land Conservancy (PLC) is a nationally-accredited land trust dedicated to conserving the land, water and wildlife of southern New Hampshire. Comprising just 8% of the state’s land area, the twenty-six communities we serve are home to 30% of New Hampshire’s people.  PLC currently holds interests in 141 properties totaling nearly 10,000 acres of land. We have a professional staff of four, and more than eighty local volunteer property monitors. PLC’s modest annual operating budget is funded almost entirely by the private contributions of individuals, families and businesses in our watershed communities.

What we do:

Conserve Land - Protecting our region’s most critical natural lands is the heart of PLC’s work.  Year in and year out, PLC protects the places that provide clean water and wildlife habitat, local food and forest products, and close-to-home opportunities to get outdoors.

Care for Land – We monitor our properties, build and maintain trails, mark boundaries, and install informational kiosks and property signs.  We are also ready to legally defend our land and easements if they are threatened with encroachment or misuse.

Get People Outdoors - All of PLC’s lands and many of our conservation easements are open to the public to enjoy. Thanks to many volunteers generously giving their time and talents, PLC recreational and educational outings get hundreds of people outside throughout the year.

Communities we serve:

Amherst, Bedford, Brookline, Deering, Dunbarton, Francestown, Goffstown, Greenfield, Greenville, Henniker, Hollis, Hudson, Litchfield, Lyndeborough, Manchester, Mason, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, Nashua, New Boston, New Ipswich, Pelham, Temple, Weare, and Wilton.
