The Wesley Center at Paris Junior College

The Wesley Center at Paris Junior College is a campus, faith community committed to journeying together, boldly questioning and deepening our beliefs, and living in a way that makes the world more like God's dream.

During 2022, The PJC Wesley Center served over 2,210 meals during our Thursday lunches. These meals are made by different individuals each week, but could not be done without our wonderful volunteers. Every week we prepare for around 75 people. Student volunteers are at the heart of this day. Several students have named dishes that are meaningful to their families and then took over making it and sharing it with their peers for lunch. That is a great way for students to learn more about one another, as well as to expand their culinary abilities. During Thursday free lunches, cross sections of people from campus come to one space and dine together. Conversations happen and relationships form that wouldn't happen without the Wesley Center.

Last year, around 950 loads of laundry swirled through our Loads of Love Laundry. Our laundry was installed and opened in 2020, so we are still growing. Local churches donate laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Staff members and volunteers assist students find what they need in the laundry and keep the space open for 7 hours, 6 days a week.

2 interns are currently leading multiple dungeons and dragons campaigns. About 25 people are involved in these campaigns and spend hours at the Wesley Center every week, laughing and finding community.
