Our mission is to rescue homeless and unwanted companion animals through sheltering and adoption into responsible, loving homes, while advancing community education and services to ensure responsible pet ownership so that in the future companion animals are no longer in need of being rescued.

PAWS vision is to be a leading expert in the field of animal welfare so that our community and its animals are served through compassion and diligence. We envision a future where the overpopulation of homeless companion animals is eliminated and every adoptable animal is a valued member of a responsible home.

PAWS also services the community through:
Low cost Spay/Neuter Surgies for the public
Low cost veternary care clinic on weekends
Rabies vaccination drives in various locations throughout Plaquemines Parish
TNR - Trap, Spay/Neuter, Release of community cats

There is always someone to help and answer questions. All animals adopted from PAWS are up to date on shots, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. When I couldn't find the dog I wanted (Chocolate Lab mix puppy), they took my information, and a week or so later, they called me when they received a litter of lab mix puppies, including two chocolate labs. One that I took home and has become a loving member of the family. PAWS is #1 in my book!!
