$100,955 raised by 318 donors

For 38 years, Prime Time House has been a place of
hope for individuals living with mental illness in Northwest Connecticut. Many of our members have faced job loss, homelessness, and
isolation. Here, they find community, purpose, and the support they need to
rebuild their lives.

Every day, members prepare meals, run our food pantry,
participate in wellness programs, and gain the skills to move forward with
confidence and independence. Through our housing programs, we help individuals
secure safe, stable homes—leading to better health, employment, and a renewed
sense of belonging.

On January 1, 2026, Prime Time House officially
affiliated with The Connection, completing a transition that began in late
2024. While maintaining our name, location, and nonprofit status,
this
partnership expands our access to resources and strengthens opportunities for
growth and collaboration
—supporting long-term sustainability while preserving
the recovery-focused environment our members rely on.

Rising costs for food, energy, and housing are hitting our
members hard—and we are all feeling the strain. The need is urgent, and your
gift today could provide the stability and support someone needs to rebuild
their life.

During Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills, we're raising $10,000 to sustain and expand our vital programs.

Who We Are

Prime Time House was resilient this past year because of your support. Your generosity through Give Local cushioned our finances at a most critical time when COVID challenged us in ways we never could have imagined. We were able to create a system of care for those suffering from the devastating impacts of mental illness. We empowered 300 members to lead productive and independent lives through our social, career services, and supported housing programs through virtual and limited in-person programs.

We have been able to continue our work helping our members deal with the toxic effects of boredom, loneliness and anxiety, enabling them to feel connected, nourished and cared-for through a “virtual clubhouse”. We delivered 4,200 bags of food to our members; not to mention the 470 meals we provided during the holidays. Our food pantry was a life line of support, allowing us to encourage our member' healthy eating habits but also providing them with personal hygiene and home cleaning products. Coupled with frequent phone calls, emails, video conferencing and YouTube videos, our commitment was nothing short of 100% to keep them safe, especially when our doors could not be opened.

Throughout the pandemic our Employment Specialists continued to build partnerships throughout Litchfield County to help connect members with job opportunities. And, our most vulnerable individuals who were initially homeless due to prolonged mental illness and/or substance abuse continued to receive the intensive case management services they need provided through our Next Steps Supportive Housing program.

Many of us have received our vaccines and feel like we have been given a coat of armor. With hope and trepidation we are venturing out into the new normal. Here at Prime Time House are members are getting vaccinated, but we are not yet at 100% capacity. Those suffering from mental illness have been hit the hardest, as anxiety and depressive disorders are on the rise, even for those who previously did not experience these symptoms. Recent data from Kaiser Family Foundation indicates the number of adults reporting symptoms of anxiety disorder has increased from 11% in January 2019 to 44% in January 2021. Young adults have been hard hit, and 56% of those between 18 - 24 face symptoms of anxiety and/or depressive disorder.

Your continued generosity is needed now more than ever as we fortify our resources to meet the growing needs in Litchfield County.
