Project Lifesaver

A nonprofit organization

The primary mission of Project Lifesaver is to provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children with the propensity to wander due to a cognitive condition.

Project Lifesaver is a nonprofit public safety program designed to protect and quickly locate individuals who are prone to wandering due to cognitive conditions such as Alzheimer's, autism, dementia, or other developmental disorders. Participants wear a small, trackable radio-frequency transmitter, which allows trained first responders to rapidly locate them if they go missing. This technology, combined with specialized training for search personnel, significantly reduces search times and increases the chances of a safe return-often within 30 minutes. Project Lifesaver not only enhances community safety but also provides peace of mind to caregivers and families.

Testimonials

"I continue to keep a close watch on him but feel comfortable in the fact that if he does manage to escape, the city and county police will know who he is along with a description of where he lives. This is a program that all parents of special needs children should take advantage of." This quote is from John, the father of Devyn, whose non-verbal son was quickly found after wandering.
