Project Love, Inc.

The idea of Project Love came to fruition in 1985, when an officer of the North East Police Department decided that rather than accepting his Christmas bonus, he would help a family in need during the holiday season! Over the next few years, other officers joined in and expanded the program to assist many families in North East. Although the police department is no longer involved, its generosity has been carried forward.

Project Love, Inc is a nonprofit organization that was founded on the basis that every child deserves a joyful Christmas. It is our mission to keep the spirit of Christmas alive in our community by providing children, ages birth to 13, gifts to open on Christmas day. 33% of our community's school age children are living at or below the poverty level. Financial stress can double during the holiday season. We aim to help lift some of that burden by providing each child a box of presents based on their individual wish lists, to help ensure a smile on everyone's face Christmas morning.

From our beginning in 1989, Project Love gave Christmas gifts to approximately 75 children. We now give gifts to over 370 every year.
