Project Wake Up

A nonprofit organization

Project Wake Up hosts two fundraisers in St. Louis annually, a trivia night and a golf tournament. Through these events, along with year-round donor support, Project Wake Up has raised nearly $600,000 to produce a first rate documentary project which was completed in June 2019. A private screening was held in St. Louis for 1000 guests in July 2019. Since then, the film premiered at the Tribeca We Are ONE world-wide virtual film festival and has been privately screened at Harvard University, the University of Utah, Active Minds National Mental Health Conference in D.C. and other cities across the nation. At the end of 2020 we began an exciting partnership with Active Minds, which makes our film available to license on campuses across the nation. The impact of the documentary and its ability to save lives is immeasurable - in fact, the film has already been cited as the reason one viewer decided not to take their own life during a crisis situation. In addition to the film, the group has endowed the Ryan J. Candice Memorial Scholarship at Mizzou which currently has over $50,000 and will be used to award scholarships to students pursuing careers in mental health social work in order to help alleviate cost of education and in hopes that more professionals will join this vital, life-saving profession.
