Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra

The Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra educates and trains young musicians to pursue excellence in performance of both chamber music and symphonic repertoire.

The Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra is our flagship program. It is comprised of 65 talented high school musicians who play strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. We perform 4 concerts each year in venues throughout the Pittsburgh area, with repertoire ranging from standard classical and pops to rock and roll. Under the direction of Pablo Ardiles, the PYCO Orchestra is reserved for outstanding strings, winds, brass and percussion players whose technical level is highly advanced, who show strong musicianship, and who are capable of the discipline and commitment necessary to perform in one of Pittsburgh's premier youth orchestras. PYCO is also the umbrella organization for five additional ensembles: Chamber Brass, Chamber Strings, Jr. Wind Ensemble, Jr. Strings, and Youth Choir, giving young musicians a variety of opportunities to pursue their love of musical performance.
