Who We Are

Quality of Life Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2016, passionately dedicated to enhancing the mental health and well-being of youth and their families within our community. Through a diverse array of targeted programs and events emphasizing personal, educational, and social development, Quality of Life Inc. strives to elevate mental health awareness and foster resilience. Acknowledging the pivotal role of mental wellness in overall quality of life, we provide essential resources and initiatives to empower individuals in our community to prioritize their mental health, advocating the fundamental principle that "Your Well-being Matters."

Our mission is to empower youth and their families by cultivating mental wellness, resilience, and empowerment across our communities. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we are dedicated to promoting holistic well-being, eradicating stigma, and expanding access to quality mental health services for all.

Our nonprofit stands at the forefront, driving positive change through comprehensive programs, collaborative partnerships, and a unified commitment to nurturing the emotional well-being of all.

Our "Why"

At Quality of Life Inc., we believe that every young person deserves a chance to live their desired "quality of life. Too often, youth in our communities are mislabeled, misunderstood, or written off entirely. Many carry the weight of trauma, violence, unmet mental health needs, or family instability. But we see beyond the struggle — we see possibility and we’re here to change that.

Through our programs focused on mental health, gun violence prevention, life skills, and youth empowerment, we walk alongside youth and families across Hampton Roads — offering support, tools, and real opportunities for change. Whether it’s providing a safe space to express emotions, helping someone land their first job, or simply being a consistent, caring adult presence, we’re there.

From the classroom to the community center, we provide mental health support, life skills training, mentorship, and violence prevention rooted in real relationships and compassionate care. We reach youth where they are: in schools, neighborhoods, and court systems, and offer them what many have never had before, consistent support and a safe space to simply be seen, heard, and valued.

This work is deeply personal. We’ve witnessed lives shift, not overnight, but with time, trust, and tools. Youth who once struggled to stay in school are now graduating. Those who faced the threat of gun violence are now leading peer circles and mentoring others. This is the power of believing in people, especially when they’re still trying to believe in themselves.
