Renaissance City Wind Music Society

A nonprofit organization

The mission of the Renaissance City Wind Music Society is to promote the best in wind chamber music, with an emphasis on American music, through presenting concerts and educational programs, producing recordings, commissioning new works and collaborating with other artists.

Annual chamber music series featuring music for winds and guest artists, presented in concert halls in Oakland (particularly Carlow University, RCW's residency host) and private homes ('parlor concerts'). 'Music for Neighborhoods,' intermittent programs in architectural and historic landmarks of Allegheny County, are site-specific programs that relate to the featured building or the ethnic background or history of the surrounding community. RCW tours throughout the Northeast and Midwest, records for radio, and produces CDs on the Centaur and Elan labels.
