Read To Me East Texas

A nonprofit organization

Hello, we are Read to Me East Texas! We are a nonprofit organization founded by a kindergarten teacher of 30+ years who has seen the impact of having students who have been read to by their parents since birth. Here at read to me, we understand the importance of reading to your children when they are babies to help them recognize and learn words and sounds, not only does it help them with their education, but your baby also bonds with you the more they hear your voice!

We are 100% funded by donors, and sponsors who believe in our organization's importance, and want to help us promote literacy in families and the babies in East Texas, WE NEED YOUR HELP to get books into the hands of babies!!!

If You Give A Child A Book!
1. By age 2, a child's brain is as active as an adult's and by age 3 the brain is more than twice as active as an adult's - and stays that way for the first 10 years of life.
2. Cognitive processes develop rapidly in the first few years of life. In fact, by age 3, roughly 85% of the brain is developed.
3. Higher reading exposure was 95% positively correlated with a growing region supporting semantic language processing in the brain.
