Reflections of Grace Foundation Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Reflections Of Grace is dedicated to: Providing financial, emotional, and educational support for children and their families affected by pediatric brain cancer; Raising awareness of all types of pediatric brain tumors, with a particular focus on Diffuse Instrinsic Pontine Gliomas (DIPGs), or Brainstem Gliomas; and Joining with other like-minded organizations in educating, aiding and funding the search for a cure for DIPG and other pediatric brain cancers, in the hope of curing all cancers.

Reflections Of Grace provides financial assistance to families suffering a severe financial hardship due to pediatric brain cancer. The Grant Selection Committee may authorize grants to families with a child diagnosed with pediatric brain cancer in accordance with these procedures: (a) at the time of the application, the applicant must not have received the maximum grant from the Foundation during the current calendar year; (b) the applicant must experience a severe economic hardship due to the child's brain cancer that creates a short-term need for basic necessities; (c) the applicant must confirm that financial assistance from the Foundation would help provide needed assistance in order for the applicant to have basic necessities, as described below; and (d) the grant of funds is to ensure that the recipient's family has basic necessities, including but not limited to, food, clothing, housing, transportation and medical assistance. Family grants are limited to $2000 per calendar year.

Reflections Of Grace is also a founding member of the DIPG Collaborative, a collection of foundations with the common interest of inspiring research into the cure of DIPG with the belief that through a cure for DIPG, significant advances in other cancer research will be made. With a goal of seeking the balance of research transparency, institutional collaboration and the elimination of duplication, the DIPG Collaborative funds both clinical and translational research worldwide. A portion of the funds raised by Reflections Of Grace supports these research grants.

The Foundation has given over $330,000 directly to more than 225 families with children battling brain cancer. The recipients are located not only in western Pennsylvania, but across the entire country. Since our inception, we have worked diligently to ensure that no eligible child who applies for a Family Grant is ever turned away. In addition, over $300,000 has been donated toward innovative research aimed at finding a cure and to raise awareness of pediatric brain tumors.
