Your generosity sparks real Local Power.

The RETI Center is rooted in Red Hook, Brooklyn — a neighborhood that knows both the force of climate impacts and the strength of community. Since our founding in 2016, we’ve brought together youth, neighbors, educators, and volunteers with a shared belief: the people most affected by climate change should have the tools, training, and opportunities to shape the solutions.

Every program we run — from solar training to floating gardens — works because people like you choose to stand with us. When you give, you’re not just supporting a nonprofit. You’re becoming part of a local, people-powered movement for climate resilience.

Here’s what your support fuels:

Clean Energy Careers for Your Neighbors

Local Power, our no-cost workforce training program, prepares New Yorkers from environmental justice communities for high-demand clean energy jobs — from solar installation to EV battery and storage. Your gift helps open doors to life-changing careers, and ensures our graduates step into family-sustaining work.

Solar That Benefits the Community

Our Community Solar projects across Staten Island, the Lower East Side, Bed-Stuy/Williamsburg, and Red Hook are projected to avoid 2,330 metric tons of CO₂ annually and reduce energy bills for 850 low-to-moderate-income households. These installations will also create jobs for Local Power trainees — a true cycle of community impact that donors help set in motion.

Hands-On Environmental Learning

At the RETI Field Station on Gowanus Bay, volunteers and students gather data, plant marsh grasses, study marine life, and care for our BlueBlock Floating Gardens and kelp crops. This work deepens our understanding of the water we live beside and builds the next generation of environmental stewards.

Youth Who Grow Into Leaders

From classrooms at Harbor Middle School to our high school internships through SYEP and partner schools, young people are exploring clean energy, nature-based solutions, and civic leadership — with a pathway straight into our workforce training when they’re ready. Your support helps them imagine and build brighter futures.

When you give to RETI Center this season, you’re helping create a safer, greener, more resilient waterfront community — one powered by the people who live here.

Your contribution is a spark. A starting point. A real act of Local Power.

Thank you for being part of this work.
Thank you for fueling what’s possible next.
