River City Brass Band

The mission of River City Brass is to entertain, educate and engage audiences of all ages by sharing American musical culture in the Pittsburgh region, nationally and internationally.

The River City Brass Band's subscription series, the centerpiece of its performing activities, is designed to be accessible, edifying and engaging. Rather than maintaining one central concert hall, the band brings its subscription series concerts to neighborhood venues in the communities where its patrons live and work. Programming features insightful commentary, uncompromising artistic standards and virtuoso musicianship that includes, jazz, big band, celtic, popular, and Bollywood/hollywood music. The River City Brass Band performs annually seven concerts one each over a seven month period at each of the following venues: Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland; The Palace Theatre in Greensburg; Upper St. Clair Theater in Upper St. Clair; Linton Middle School in Penn Hills, and Carson Middle School in McCandless. Additionally, three of these concerts are performed during designated months at the Lincoln Park Center for the Performing Arts in Beaver.
River City Brass also maintains active educational programming. The River City Youth Brass Band has been operational for 30 years and serves 40 to 60 highly talented youth from Allegheny County and the region. The River City Brass Conservatory of Music offers musical theater and orchestra programs to youth in 4th through 12th grades from Pittsburgh and Allegheny County school districts.
The band is also an ambassador for Pittsburgh, conducting tours over twenty touring programs annually in the region, state and nation.
