The Romero House Potters Inc.

A nonprofit organization

The mission of The Romero House Potters, Inc. is to promote and support ceramics arts education for the Tucson and Southern Arizona communities by offering classes, studio time, workshops and special events.

The Romero House Potters (RHP) is a non-profit (501(c)(3) ceramics school and studio located on the campus of the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block in downtown Tucson. Our instructors, who are themselves professional ceramic artists, teach wheel throwing, hand building and sculpture to members of the community sixteen years and older. We are open seven days a week and offer generous open studio hours. All registered students have access to tools and equipment that includes a spray booth, a slab roller, an extruder and a pug mill. Our facility houses a large wheel room furnished with both electric and kick style wheels, a large hand building room, a glaze room, a raw materials lab, storage for work in progress and a sales gallery. Our outdoor protected kiln yard provides electric kilns for bisque and low-fire, a front loading updraft kiln, and a large catenary arch car kiln. Studio glazes and firings are included in class fees.

The Romero House Potters, Inc. is a full service ceramics facility that provides instruction and studio time in a friendly, community-based facility.
