Rust Street Ministries

We provide help with basic life needs at no charge to those living in the San Angelo area. We are a community outreach of the Johnson Street Church of Christ

Our services include the free distribution of food, clothes, furniture, household items, bicycles, and durable medical equipment such as walkers and shower chairs. We have Wesley nurses who work with us to provide counseling and assistance to our neighbors with newborns or chronic health conditions. We provide special food, hygiene and other items for our homeless neighbors.

In 2025, we assisted 3,645 households including 8,251 individuals with 362,723 lbs. of food, 69,322 articles of clothing, 7,564 household and personal items, 384 pieces of furniture, 105 youth beds, 219 appliances, and 136 bicycles. We have a mobile food pantry and clothes closet that can visit schools and churches, and assist in disaster relief. Our facilities host other programs such as Young Life and Neighbor's Café. We partner with dozens of other Concho Valley agencies, churches and civic groups to assist anyone who needs our services. 

We have three full-time staff (employees of Johnson Street church) and three part-time staff (All our services are offered with the help of volunteers, offering community members the opportunity to serve and/or give back to the community.
