Our Mission, Our Motivation, Our Story!

In Loving Memory of Aramah Greenlee-Williams (Rhemy)

In 2004, Kivva and Byron faced the heartbreaking loss of their daughter, Aramah (Rhemy). They discovered a gap in community resources for survivors of child abuse and untimely deaths, and they committed to changing this reality. Since then, they have dedicated their lives to advocating against child abuse and helping other families heal.

The Rhema Word Foundation was established and registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2019 with a mission to restore lives to a new normal through love and compassion for women, senior citizens, and children who are survivors of abuse. We support survivors with food, clothing, financial literacy, financial assistance, health and wellness programs through our Helping Hand Wellness Program (HHWP), AODE sessions, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) sessions, and other wraparound services.

We are excited to announce Rhema’s Refuge Crisis House, a new initiative dedicated to women and children facing domestic violence. The house will provide a safe haven where survivors can regain independence and reintegrate into society, with services that include:

  • Individual counseling and support groups

  • Temporary housing and a transitional living environment

  • Life skills classes and financial literacy

  • Job readiness training

  • Health and wellness programs

  • Self-defense courses

Our goal is to have Rhema’s Refuge operational and ready to house its first group of women by February 2026. To make this vision a reality, we are seeking support to equip the house with furniture, appliances, towels, linens, dishes, and all essentials that will help it function as a welcoming, functional home.

Rhema’s Refuge will be a beacon of hope, offering compassionate care to survivors and helping them cope with loss. The Rhema Word Foundation aspires to become a trusted, household name in our community, providing vital resources to those in need. Achieving this mission requires the generosity and partnership of supporters like you.

We need your help:

  • Donations for furniture, appliances, towels, linens, dishes, and general household essentials

  • Financial contributions to fund program operations and staffing

  • Volunteer time and in-kind services to support programming and outreach

Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Together, we can transform tragedy into hope and empower survivors to rebuild their lives.
