RYSE PRYDE 2024: SHOW OUT AND BE PROUD

RYSE continues to empower LGBTQIA+ leadership in the community, ensuring that they are reflected in and supported by programs that are safe, loving, welcoming, and responsive. With RYSE’s Theory of Liberation, we envision and fight for strong, healthy, united communities where equity is the norm and violence is neither desired nor required, creating a strong foundation for future generations to thrive. Read more about our Theory of Liberation here.

Through RYSE's programs and supports, we aim to enliven:

  1. Advocacy & Raising Awareness
  2. Youth Leadership & Peer Supports
  3. Individual/Group Counseling & Case Management

The Alphabet Group is a support and empowerment group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Queer, Questioning, and Intersex youth to discuss their experiences, multiple identities, healthy sexuality, education, advocacy, and current issues. They build community through collective art projects, going on field trips, and helping plan LGBTQIA+ events.  Past Alphabet Group members created The Alphabet Soup web series to explore gender justice, sexuality, identity, and advocacy.

This is the generation that can make a change for a better future. Youth voices are powerful and will always be powerful because we know what we want and we know what we need.

Youth Emergency Care Fund
This fundraiser benefits RYSE’s Youth Emergency Fund, which provides timely and direct resources to young people whose basic needs are not being met or are being threatened. Since it began, RYSE’s Youth Emergency Fund has supported over 400 young people in the local community.

“Ever since the pandemic RYSE has been committed to raising a dedicated fund that can be used to support young people and their families’ most immediate needs — such as food, housing, and bills,” said Kimberly Aceves-Iñiguez, executive director and cofounder of RYSE. “RYSE is dedicated to raising money for this fund and bringing community together to remind ourselves of that relationships, fun and joy are critical for our collective healing and liberation.”

Help us continue to nurture and grow our LGBTQ+ youth programming!
