Saint Edward Church, Richard

Hello! I’m Father Korey LaVergne, Pastor of Saint Edward Catholic Church in Richard, LA, and I want to share with you an exciting giving opportunity coming up on Giving Tuesday this December 3rd.  

We’re teaming up with #iGiveCatholic this year in hopes of creating a special place for “Our Little Cajun Saint,” Charlene Richard, inside of a beautiful garden on our Church grounds. The space we hope to transform into a Memorial Garden for Charlene is located between the Church and the Rectory. We have a green space there that would be perfect for her new resting place due to its prominent location and ease of access for visitors.

With the help of your generous contributions, we can develop the space and construct a covered pavilion under which we will relocate the tomb of Charlene Richard. Once the pavilion is complete, we will create a vibrant prayer garden around the structure with lush landscaping and lit walkways. Comfortable seating inside the pavilion will also be provided for visitors who just want to spend a peaceful moment with Charlene in prayer.

Since Christians from all over the globe share in our love of Charlene, we knew that Giving Tuesday would be the perfect way to include everyone who loves her in this project.
