St. Peter Church, Carencro, LA

A nonprofit organization

This year's #iGiveCatholic project is to support our parish's mission of Catholic education at our parish school, Carencro Catholic.  Our fundraising goal is $75,000 and these funds will be used for the following:

  1. Roof Repairs - roof repairs of covered walkways and chapel.  This will ensure proper care and maintenance for the safety of our students and the longevity of the campus.
  2. Chapel Renovations - complete renovations to the chapel at CCS.  These renovations will provide room for an entire class of students and their teacher to attend.  This will also repair the leaking roof, water-damaged ceiling, and water-damaged walls.  All of these repairs will ensure that CCS gets to benefit for many years to come from the on-campus chapel.

It is no secret that Carencro Catholic School has a rich history of over 125 years of existence.  Carencro Catholic School is the result of the dreams and dedication of a Canadian priest, Father A. N. Laforet, and St. Peter parishioners.      Father Laforet, 4th pastor of St. Peter Church in Carencro, brought the Sisters of the Order of Mount Carmel to Carencro in 1897 to open St. Ann's Convent School.  The school and sisters served the community for over half a century.  Msgr. August Wassler ushered in a new school facility, St. Pierre School in 1963.

Today, Carencro Catholic School is home to students ranging in grades PreK (3) - 8th.  As the Body of Christ is present in the chapel at the center of campus, so is Christ at the center of study at Carencro Catholic School.  Within a loving  family  atmosphere, students  encounter  a unique  religious  curriculum  following  the  teachings  reflected in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
