At the San Antonio Marriage Initiative (SAMI), we believe strong marriages are the foundation for strong families, and strong families create thriving communities. Rooted in God’s love, our mission is to inspire, resource, and empower churches and communities so couples can experience the full potential of marriage and family as God intended.

SAMI unites pastors, church leaders, professionals, and community members into a powerful network of support that strengthens marriages and nurtures families across Bexar County.

Why does this matter? Research shows that children raised in two-parent homes are more likely to avoid poverty, graduate, and lead stable, productive lives. But when marriages break down, families often face cycles of poverty, addiction, and abuse.

This is where the church makes all the difference. Through the SAMI community, churches receive the training, resources, and connections they need to walk alongside couples, helping them build lasting marriages that bless their families and communities for generations.

Who We Are

The San Antonio Marriage Initiative realizes that during this time of crises, a large percentage of donations/attention goes to the physical needs - food, shelter, etc. But what about the relational needs that are so often overlooked?
With the mandates of staying home from work/school/large social gatherings, parents are worried and even kids are concerned. It's predicted we will have rising levels of tension, conflict, and even domestic violence. Never before have families been thrust into these current situations!
SAMI, as an organization, is working to mobilize the community toward serving those relational needs, through webinars, videos, Zoom calls, & in other innovative ways.
