Save Our Park, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Save Our Park, a nonprofit organization based in Pinetop-Lakeside, is working in partnership with community leaders and the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside to acquire the Park for the Town so that it remains a vibrant part of Pinetop-Lakeside community for generations to come.

In February 2020, the Pinetop-Lakeside Town Council approved the purchase of the 107-acre recreational area within Woodland Lake Park. The purchase was made possible through the fundraising efforts of Save Our Park.

Over 430 acres of Woodland Lake Park are still at risk. While the remaining park is currently protected by federal law, a new bill could be passed at any time allowing the remaining Park, which is owned by the U.S. Forest Service, to be sold to developers. In fact, the U.S. Forest Service is requiring positive movement by the Town towards purchasing the parcel. If this does not occur, the Forest Service may divest themselves of the Park.

The best strategy to ensure Woodland Lake Park remains open space is for Save Our Park, a nonprofit organization, to raise the needed funds for the Town to purchase Woodland Lake Park through private donations. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Save Our Park and the Town will ensure acreage purchased through Save Our Park's fundraising efforts remains open space.

Testimonials

Woodland Lake Park has long been called the "Crown Jewel" of Pinetop-Lakeside. It has been a special place for our residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors and the various amenities the Town has provided. It also creates a venue for many events that bring visitors to our area and benefits the local community. It is the hope of the Town that this Park remains for generations to come. - MAYOR STEPHANIE IRWIN
