Through our mission of "engaging the public in creative experiences through contemporary craft," we empower people to foster more meaningful lives and build more vibrant communities using the transformative power of art.

Contemporary Craft encourages people to better understand themselves and their world through seeing, making, and learning about art. We offer unique art opportunities for more than 145,000 people a year. In our 45 years of operation, we've presented more than 250 exhibitions featuring cutting-edge work by more than 2,000 culturally diverse, renowned, and emerging artists. Our workshops, community outreach programs, and retail store provide unique resources that enrich the lives of residents and visitors in the greater Pittsburgh region and nationally.

Contemporary Craft is deeply committed to providing all people with access to the arts, regardless of their income and/or abilities. Since we do not charge admission, every visitor who walks through the door has the opportunity to directly interact with, learn from, and make meaningful art.
