Science Voices

A nonprofit organization

Improving equity in science education. We are helping overlooked communities improve their ability to teach, learn, and use science through co-development of new digital tools and experiences

Science Voices is a US-based nonprofit organization that works on the hardest problems in science education. Founded in 2019, we work all over the world to train educators in active learning methods, empower learners to bring science to their communities through impactful projects, and build teaching tools for low resource classrooms.

Our Projects

Greenworks - a global environmental stewardship network that brings teachers, students, and communities into a shared system for designing and building real-world solutions together.  Spin-off projects include

  • Beeworks (Brazil, Indonesia) which works on education and economic development around stingless tropical bees
  • Geoworks (Ukraine) which works on education and economic development around geoforms, rivers, and soils.

Agavi - an adaptive learning platform designed for smartphones that enables teachers to build innovative new experiences for their students in resource-poor areas.

Sustainable States - a role-playing game that engages teachers and students in game-based learning through environmental diplomacy

We also run the Global.Science podcast (currently on hiatus) that talks with teachers about their experiences in science teaching.
