Initiating change originates from within us. Established in Erie, Serenity, Resource, and Recovery is an organization centered on community well-being. In 2022, we was established as a official nonprofit dedicated to providing drug awareness programs and resources to various groups. Our range of services includes recovery support groups, drug awareness outreach initiatives, one-on-one peer counseling, and a food bank. Furthermore, participants can fulfill community service hours through our programs. Our primary objective is to offer essential assistance and support to individuals combating addiction, with the aim of significantly influencing their lives and the overall well-being of the community. We are committed to providing support for up to three years following their incarceration or completion of recovery programs. Our mission is to raise awareness and educate individuals in Erie, the county, and neighboring areas to address the heroin and opiate epidemic, which is the primary public health and safety challenge in Pennsylvania. With nearly 5168 overdose-related deaths in 2021 - averaging 14 deaths per day - it is evident that the death toll may continue to increase. Serenity, Resource, and Recovery aims to reduce these numbers, understanding that successful recovery requires collaborative efforts. We strive to ensure our clients feel supported throughout their recovery journey by offering AA meetings and our 'Walk by Faith' support groups. These groups provide assistance to individuals with loved ones struggling with addiction or who have lost someone due to addiction. Our food bank aids those in need of nourishment, and we assist in developing goal plans to help individuals establish a purposeful path towards recovery. Recognizing how addiction can disrupt lives, our safe and supportive environment through AA meetings and 'Walk by Faith' groups provides understanding and encouragement for individuals to share their struggles. The provision of essential nourishment through our food bank and the guidance on goal plans enable individuals to set and pursue a path towards a healthier future. Our ultimate aim is to support as many individuals as possible on their journey towards recovery, fostering a caring and supportive environment where individuals can find the strength to take charge of their lives.
