San Francisco Suicide Prevention (SFSP)  empowers community members to help each other and themselves through all crises.

Our 24-hour volunteer run crisis line is the oldest in the United States and our peer-to-peer based model of pain management has been replicated across the country over 500 times.

SFSP's services and programs ensure that all members of the community are given the care and support they need the moment they need it:

Our HIV/AIDS Nightline is the only emotional support line in the United States dedicated to helping those living with, affected by or caring for those with HIV/AIDS. In 2017 we answered 12,283 calls nationwide.

Our Youth Risk Reduction Program provides in person training to young people and administrators on the warning signs of suicide and the tools to help those in crisis.

Our Training and Community Outreach Program works with community partners and agencies to raise awareness about suicide and provide trainings in crisis intervention and de-escalation. We also provide continuing education courses to our volunteers  to ensure that clients receive the care and resources they need without barriers.

Our Grief Response Program recognizes that the those affected by the loss of a loved one to suicide often times need a safe space to process and share in their experiences.  By the end of 2018 we anticipate our Grief Support Program will provide services to 200 individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide.

For 56 years SFSP has helped countless amount of people in crisis and with your support we will ensure that all members of the community continue to receive the care they need the moment they need it.
