Shelby Regional Arts Council

Mission : " Working to highlight, support and educate our community in the arts". 

We are a group of artists and volunteers from Shelby and surrounding counties serving our community by working with students and teachers to hold workshops, family inter-generational art classes, assist art teachers and students to produce art for the schools, rehabilitation art workshops for women, working in conjunction with the Horse Jubilee Show sponsoring "Horsing Around With The Arts"  a show that featured both art exhibits and hands on art for children., collaborative art projects for the community and scholarships awarded to local high school art students.

Who We Are

We are artists, craftsman and volunteers from Shelby, Jefferson, Henry, Franklin and all surrounding counties. Our mission is to support, educate and highlight art in the community. We do this by sponsoring numerous workshops and classes for students, teachers and adults. Each year we participate in the Shelby County Horse Show Jubilee with our "Horsing Around with the Arts" that features an art exhibit, artist booths, demos and a hands-on art and crafts booth for children. In 2017 we opened Dogwood Art Gallery and Studio that not only exhibits works of art from member and local area artists but also offers workshops, classes and demonstrations. We have sponsored rehabilitative programs with art therapy and offer art scholarships to high school students. We believe in the need to connect with the community thru art and are always working on new projects or missions.
