Mission To work toward a safe and equitable New Orleans. Vision A safer New Orleans with thriving communities. Values We value every life, treated each person with equal dignity, and mourn each violent loss of life is with humanity, care, and compassion.

Silence Is Violence helps New Orleanians to access care, agency and healing in the aftermath of violence.

We help survivors of violence and families who have lost loved ones with everything from applying to the state's Victims Assistance Fund to finding safe temporary housing to making funeral arrangements. An assigned case manager works with the client as they navigate police investigations and trials, leveraging SIV's relationships with detectives and prosecutors to protect and advocate for the needs and interests of the client.

Clients are provided evidence-based counseling free of cost or given referrals to trained professionals who can help navigate the grieving process with an eye towards maintaining stability and finding resilience in the most difficult moments.
