St. Louis Classic Rock Preservation Society

Our goal is to raise funds for the preservation, awareness, and the honoring of of St. Louis' unique classic rock and pop culture history. Our volunteers are involved in preserving this history as well as creating archives and documentaries. Each year we hold several events, that, after our modest administrative needs are met, are used to support other local charitable organizations. An eventual goal is to be able to assist local musicians in times of need, including when instruments and equipment are damaged, stolen or destroyed.

In 2020, we created KEEP LIVE ALIVE SAINT LOUIS, which raised over $100,000 for local artists and all the people behind the scenes who bring you concerts everyday - ushers, ticket takers, bartenders, wait staff, sound & lighting technicians, stagehands, backstage crews, the list goes on and on.

Thanks to over 800 donations from $10 to $10,000, plus the hard work of many, we were able to help, via $1,000 grants some of those people most affected by being laid off, waiting and wanting to come back to work producing your favorite concerts and live entertainment events. The Society produced a free 90-minute entertainment video special including Sammy Hagar, Kevin Cronin, George Thorogood, members of the bands Mama's Pride, Ozark Mountain Daredevils and Gypsy, plus radio DJs from KSHE 95, 105.7 The Point, 92.3 WIL and 106.5 The Arch, helped spread the word to raise the funds.

Each fall, pre-Covid we held our annual trivia night and St. Louis Classic Rock Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The event focuses on overall St. Louis history as well as music, and honors our city and the music talents that have come from our area. Past inductees include Chuck Berry, Michael McDonald, Bob Heil, Mama's Pride, Pavlov's Dog, the KSHE Crestwood Studios, the Mississippi River Festival, and many more.

We hope we can "catch up" on inducting our past two years Hall of Fame classes and induct a 2022 class this year.
