We are Building a Resilience Hub together 🏡

Every dollar we receive during Give Miami will go towards turning our 1601 property into a Community Resilience Hub— a space to heal, grow, and learn. 

Picture it: It's a hot summer day so you stop by the Hub. You're immediately relieved as the AC hits you, and you grab water and electrolytes from the cooling supply pantry. It's been a stressful day, so you step into the garden to take take a pause, meditate, and snack on some home-grown strawberries. You check in with the Resilience Hub fellow and find out there's a tech class that evening so you stick around, and connect with your community while learning new computer skills. 

Here's How We Bring the Vision to Life 🤩

• $5,000 - Renovating and furnishing the space
• $10,000 - Renovations and setting up the Tech Lab
• $15,000 - Renovations, Tech Lab, and building out our Climate Resilience education and supply hub
• $20,000 - Renovations, Tech Lab, Climate Resilience Hub, and turning the back yard into a restorative space for gardening and somatic healing practices. 
• $25,000 - Renovations, Tech lab, Climate Resilience hub, Food and Healing Justice Garden, and establishing a Community Resilience Hub Fellowship where a member of the community will become a trained steward of the hub and all its offerings. 

A note to our community members: Some might recall how in 2024 we raised over $44,000 during Give Miami to turn 1601 into a Youth Home. We are proud to share that while we are now shifting gears to turn 1601 into the SMASH Community Resilience Hub, we are finalizing a contract to break ground on a new-build project which will be the site of our Youth Home.
